Carolyn Mix and Darcy Doniger are the two notes. Creators at heart, they are both musicians with a long-standing love affair with the art of bottling nature. In 2006, combining all their passions under one roof on a tiny cobblestone street in Portland, Maine, Carolyn and Darcy established 2 Note and introduced their compositions to the world.

music to your senses

2 Note created its name based on the relationship between music and scents. Fragrant compositions are traditionally described in notes, like those in a musical scale. The artistry lies in blending top, heart, and bass notes together to form a symphony of scents.

modern antiquity

All of our perfumes, bath and body care products are crafted in small batches. Comparable to an artisan bakery, we mix, bottle, and label each product by hand. We have extremely high standards, work only with the finest ingredients, and take great care in offering you products with a conscience. All of our botanicals are therapeutic grade, and we package our products in amber glass (except when the nature of the product requires plastic for safety) so as to preserve the integrity of the ingredients.
